A nice copy of this rare and scarce illustrated Japanese Picture Book from the early 1800s. The spine is good and still has its cotton hinge ties. The cover has some shelf ware but is otherwise in good condition. I had someone who specializes in Japanese works look at it and research indicates that period of time. I cant be sure that that is the exact date but the circular is around that period. All the pages are in good clean condition for its age.
The illustrations have been beautifully done in wood cut block prints(see pictures) There are 34 illustrated pages. It appears to be depicting the story of a traveller on the road to what maybe Edo"Modern Day Tokyo" and the journey and the people whom he encounters.
